Study Water
I ask, What words do you have
For one on the path of Awakening
Who aspires to live a life of generosity
Study water
Oh being of ease and bliss, Study water
Study how it flows unceasingly
Study its pathways on this earth
And in your own body
Study how in the right amounts it nourishes life
But too much
And it destroys
Study how it collects and pools
How it reflects, at times, the entire sky in a single droplet
Study its depths
Its oceans and rivers, streams and ponds
Sip it, drink it down, make of it a broth, a tea, a potion, an elixir
Rinse in it, wash, cleanse, steep and soak
Study water--it has mysteries that are yet unknown
Study water
For it is most like the Tao, the Way
The path
Oh seeker, who has made of their life
A way of compassion
Who guides others towards ease, bliss and enjoyment
Make your heart like water--flexible and without limit
Make your mind like water--reflective and deep
Make your body like water--kind and affirming of life
